Air Fryer Baked Potatoes

4 medium-sized russet potatoes
1-2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt, to taste
Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, chives, cheese, bacon bits


1. Preheat the Air Fryer:
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
Prepare the Potatoes:
Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt.

2 . Pat the potatoes dry with a paper towel.
Using a fork, poke several holes around each potato to allow steam to escape during cooking.

3 . Season the Potatoes:
Rub each potato with olive oil to coat evenly.
Sprinkle salt over the potatoes, ensuring an even coating.
4 . Air Fry the Potatoes:
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other.

Cook at 400°F (200°C) for 35-45 minutes, depending on the size of the potatoes. Flip the potatoes halfway through the cooking time for even crisping.
To check for doneness, insert a fork or knife into the center of a potato; it should go in easily.

5 . Serve:
Carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer (they will be hot!).
Slice open the top of each potato and fluff the insides with a fork.
Add your favorite toppings and serve hot.
