Ingredients:
– 1 package phyllo dough
– 1 cup melted butter
– 2 cups mixed nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds), finely chopped
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1 cup honey
– 1/2 cup water
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Brush each phyllo sheet with melted butter and layer 3-4 sheets together.
- In a bowl, mix the finely chopped nuts, ground cinnamon, and 1/2 cup sugar. Spread this mixture evenly over the layered phyllo sheets.
- Roll the phyllo tightly into logs and place them in a baking dish.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the rolls are golden brown.
- While the baklava rolls are baking, prepare the syrup by combining honey, water, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Once the baklava rolls are done baking, pour the hot syrup over them.
- Let the baklava rolls soak in the syrup before serving.
