Donut Grilled Cheese with Bacon + Maple Glaze

2 tablespoons maple syrup
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions:

Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, ground cinnamon, and cayenne pepper (if using) to create a spicy-sweet glaze.
Toast the sliced donuts in the same skillet, cut side down, until golden brown. This step adds a delightful crunch.
Flip the donuts and place 2 slices of cheddar cheese on each bottom half, followed by the crispy bacon, crumbled for even distribution.
Generously drizzle the prepared maple syrup mixture over the bacon, ensuring each bite has a perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory.
Place the top halves of the donuts on the sandwich, press gently to seal, and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes—just enough for the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld.
