Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup sour cream
- 8 ounces egg noodles, cooked according to package instructions
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), tomato sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to meld.
- In the prepared baking dish, layer half of the cooked egg noodles on the bottom. Spread half of the beef mixture over the noodles.
- Dollop half of the sour cream over the beef mixture, then sprinkle half of the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining noodles, beef mixture, sour cream, and cheeses.
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly
