Air Fryer Pita Pizza

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 whole wheat or regular pita bread
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings (e.g., sliced tomatoes, olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, pepperoni, etc.)
  • Olive oil (optional)
  • Italian seasoning or dried oregano (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat for a few minutes.
  2. Prepare the Pita Bread:Place the pita bread on a clean surface or on a plate.
  3. Add Pizza Sauce:Spread an even layer of pizza sauce over each pita bread, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.
  4. Add Cheese and Toppings:Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
    Add your favorite pizza toppings. Get creative and customize each pita pizza according to your preferences.
  5. Optional Drizzle of Olive Oil:For added flavor and crispiness, you can drizzle a little olive oil over the top of each pizza.
  6. Transfer to Air Fryer:Carefully place the prepared pita pizzas in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overlapping.
  7. Air Fry:Cook the pita pizzas in the air fryer for about 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted, and the edges of the pita are golden brown.
  8. Check for Doneness:Keep an eye on the pizzas as cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model. Check for doneness and adjust the time accordingly.
  9. Finish with Seasoning:If desired, sprinkle some Italian seasoning or dried oregano over the pizzas for an extra burst of flavor.
