Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge with Walnuts

Ingredients:

3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup unsalted butter

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 cup chopped walnuts (optional but delicious!)

Pinch of salt


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the pan:
    Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Melt the chocolate:
    In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate chips, butter, and sweetened condensed milk. Stir continuously until smooth and melted.
  3. Add flavor:
    Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Mix in nuts:
    Fold in chopped walnuts evenly throughout the fudge mixture.
  5. Set the fudge:
    Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Smooth the top with a spatula.

    Refrigerate for about 2 hours or until firm.
