Ingredients:
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
1 large onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, minced
1 tbsp cumin seeds
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Marinate the beef:
In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tbsp soy sauce and 1/2 tsp ground cumin. Mix well and let it marinate for at least 15 minutes. - Heat the oil:
In a large skillet or wok over high heat, heat the vegetable oil. - Cook the beef:
Add the marinated beef to the skillet and stir-fry until browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside. - Sauté aromatics:
Add the garlic, ginger, and cumin seeds to the skillet and cook for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant. - Add onion:
Add the sliced onion to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, or until softened. - Return beef to skillet:
Add the cooked beef back to the skillet and mix well with the onions. - Season the stir-fry:
Add the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes to combine flavors. - Garnish and serve:
Garnish the stir-fry with fresh cilantro, if desired, and serve with rice
