Ingredients:
2 pounds lean ground beef
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 tablespoons red bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons green bell pepper, chopped
½ cup ketchup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons light brown sugar
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
⅓ cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup additional shredded Cheddar cheese, for sprinkling
Directions:
- Cook the Beef:
In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the green and red bell peppers, onions, salt, and pepper. Cook until the vegetables are tender and the beef is fully browned. Drain any excess fat. - Make the Sloppy Joe Sauce:
In a small bowl, mix together the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and brown sugar. Pour this mixture into the skillet with the beef and stir well to combine. - Prepare the Cheese Sauce:
In a separate saucepan, melt the shredded Cheddar cheese, milk, and butter over low heat, stirring continuously until smooth and well combined. - Assemble the Burritos:
Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a clean skillet over medium heat. Place a large spoonful of the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the center of each tortilla, followed by a spoonful of cheese sauce. Roll up the tortilla burrito-style. - Grill the Burritos:
Fry each burrito in the hot oil for about 1-2 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on a plate lined with paper towels. - Serve:
Before serving, sprinkle the grilled burritos with additional shredded Cheddar cheese.
