Fluffy Swirl Milk Buns (Super Soft Bread Rolls)
Ingredients
Dry ingredients:
- 4 cups (500g) all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
Wet ingredients:
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 egg
For brushing:
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
1. Make the Dough
- In a bowl, combine:
- Flour
- Sugar
- Salt
- Instant yeast
- Add:
- Warm milk
- Oil (or melted butter)
- Egg
- Mix and knead for 8β10 minutes until smooth and soft.
The dough should be slightly sticky but elastic.
2. First Rise
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
3. Shape the Swirls
- Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a rope (about 25β30 cm).
- Roll the rope into a spiral shape β like a snail.
- Place the swirls in a greased baking tray close together.
4. Second Rise
- Cover again and let them rise 30β40 minutes until puffy.
5. Brush & Bake
- Brush the tops with egg yolk + milk mixture.
- Bake at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for 20β25 minutes, until beautifully golden brown.
